Hi Oxbow Archaeologists,

I made it out to Sias East yesterday afternoon and Marianne, Nik, Becky, and Brigitte came out in the evening (see Photo 1). We excavated the 35-40 cm level of the 5 m trench on the east side of the 110 West Block (see Map). All units contained several flakes and bone fragments and a couple GTP sherdlets. Unit 1S-104W had a large number of flakes and bone fragments. No diagnostic artifacts were recovered.

On Saturday we will be excavating at the Naugle site.

Also, Terry Martin will be conducting a faunal workshop for us a week from Saturday (July 21). It will be in a Visitor Center classroom. You might let me know if you plan on attending so we know how many to plan for.

Hope to see you at the site.

Scott
