Hi Oxbow Archaeologists,

Kevin, Nik, Marianne, and I made it out to the site on Saturday. We continued to excavate the trench east of the main part of the 110 West block (see MAP below). The density seemed to pick up a bit in the 20-25 cm levels of units 1S-104W and 1S-105W. We only recovered flakes and small bone fragments.

In the afternoon, I finished excavating part of Feature 2 and drew a profile. A thunderstorm came through about 6:30 and forced me out of the field a little early.

This week on Wednesday we’ll be at the Resource Building – probably washing 1/8” screen bags and doing flotation samples. I’ll probably try to locate the Naugle datum in the afternoon. Next Saturday we’ll plan on excavating at Sias East.

Hope to see you at the site.

Scott
