Hi Oxbow Archaeologists,

Marianne, Becky, and I made it out to the site on Saturday (see ).  We opened unit 3S-104W and excavated it to 20 cm (i.e. the plow zone). We recovered several flakes and bone fragments, but no tools.  In the afternoon I began excavating the 25-30 cm level of 2S-100W.  We found several sherds of the Middle Woodland vessel we dated last year in the 20-25 cm level.  There were several flakes and bone fragments between 25-27.5 cm.  About 3 P.M. thunderstorms started moving through the area, so the afternoon was cut short.

Wednesday, we will be going to Sias East and take some elevations on the units.  Saturday we will plan on digging at Sias East.

Hope to see you at the site.

Scott
